Piperjames has been a professional highland bagpiper for over thirty years.

He is known by all as ‘Piperjames, South Africa’s Royal Bagpiper’ and he is without doubt the most recognised piper that South Africa has ever produced and known to all as the ‘Royal Piper’ for two very real reasons:

One, because he is a committed Christian and as such he pipes for God above all else and two, having piped for many years in the Household Division of Her Majesties, Queen Elizabeth the Seconds’ Guards at Buckingham Palace, St. James’s Palace, Blenheim Palace and many other royal events, including the Weddings of Lady Diana Spencer to Prince Charles and that of the Duke of York to Miss Sarah Ferguson, there is no more fitting a title / description therefore as, Royal Bagpiper!

Piperjames has also been the Lone Piper at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland and at the Menin Gate in Ypres in Belgium. Honours bestowed upon him for his loyal service and high regard in his chosen life’s ‘field of expertise’ so to speak.

Having moved to South Africa in 2006 where he married his South African born wife he now lives full time in Cape Town and will soon become a full time citizen. He represents his new country with the very same passion that has helped him build up such a trusted reputation, which he has secured in many other countries around the world over the years.

Piperjames not only brings colour, pomp and circumstance but he also brings the unique musical sound that is synonymous with and to the occasions of weddings, parties, banquets and even funerals.

He also brings warmth and friendship to all that come into contact with him, no matter what position his client may hold. He is also involved in many charitable events too, giving back to others less fortunate in life.

Piperjames wears the new South Africa Tartan. A unique Tartan that has been designed with all the colours of the South African National Flag thus adding patriotism to his presence as well.
